The bank faced rising complexity across document-heavy processes, compliance tasks, and system navigation. Manual work slowed decision-making and limited teams’ ability to focus on higher-value activities. GenAI now fills this gap by turning fragmented information into structured insights and automating time-consuming tasks.
The Citi AI suite centers on three agentic tools trained on the bank’s proprietary knowledge. Citi Stylus Workspaces performs cross-format summarization, document comparison, and context-aware question answering. It reduces the time needed to extract insights from lengthy reports and regulatory materials. Citi Assist functions as a system navigation agent, guiding employees through internal applications using natural language. Citi Squad accelerates software development by automating code review, documentation, and non-coding tasks that typically slow engineering cycles.
Citi’s deployment strategy emphasizes responsible use. Each tool operates within a governance framework that enforces security controls and auditability. This ensures that generative AI enhances decision-making without exposing sensitive data or creating compliance risks. More than 180,000 employees across 83 jurisdictions already use Citi AI to build presentations, create Q&A briefs, generate speaker notes, and streamline administrative work. These workloads benefit from rapid reasoning, high-quality text generation, and consistent outputs tailored to the bank’s internal standards.
The bank reports that the tools have significantly increased productivity by reducing manual effort and enabling teams to focus on analysis and client outcomes.
