GoKwik shows how GenAI powered WhatsApp journeys help D2C brands acquire customers and drive stronger sales growth.

GoKwik latest WhatsApp Commerce Intelligence Report shows that GenAI is changing how direct-to-consumer brands engage customers. Instead of sending identical campaigns to everyone, brands now use AI to decide the right message, recipient, and timing. This approach turns WhatsApp into an intelligent sales channel rather than a simple marketing tool.

The biggest challenge was poor engagement from traditional broadcast messaging. Mass campaigns often create low click rates and message fatigue. GenAI solves this by using contextual automation throughout the customer journey. AI triggers abandoned cart reminders, loyalty messages, order updates, login prompts, and customer support conversations based on user behavior. The result is more relevant interactions that improve engagement without increasing message volume.

The business results are significant. Brands using AI-powered automation achieved 2.25 times higher median GMV growth than brands without it. Automated journeys generated click-through rates above 11%, compared with only 2.6% for broadcast campaigns. During India’s festive season, 83% of WhatsApp orders came from first-time customers. AI-powered support also improved chatbot resolution rates from 67.1% to 73.4%, reducing routine customer service work while improving customer satisfaction.
