Google introduces Google Vids, a GenAI-powered platform for rapid, professional video creation within Google Workspace.

Google has announced the general availability of Google Vids, a GenAI video tool for Google Workspace users, leveraging its Gemini model to simplify video production for businesses. This aims to help teams across customer service, marketing, and project management create engaging videos efficiently. Addressing the challenge of high-quality video production without extensive time or technical skills.

At the heart of Google Vids is the “Help me create” feature, which generates an initial storyboard from simple text prompts or existing Google Drive documents. This GenAI functionality provides automated scene suggestions. Allowing users to add animations, transitions, and photo effects with ease. To further enhance the storytelling experience, Google Vids offers AI-powered voiceovers with preset options and allows custom voice recordings. Making it adaptable for varied professional uses.

The tool also includes a teleprompter that synchronizes with the AI’s script, providing a seamless read-along experience. Though it is currently available only in English. With ongoing plans to expand language support, Google Vids is positioned to become a versatile asset for international teams. By combining these GenAI capabilities, Google Vids enables quick, cost-effective video production, making it accessible to teams that typically lack dedicated video resources.

Currently, Google Vids is available to select Workspace subscribers, including Business Standard and Plus, Enterprise, and Education Plus tiers. While all features are fully available until December 2025, Google notes that certain features may come with limits after this period, encouraging businesses to explore the tool’s full capabilities in the near term.
