Smarsh launches GenAI-powered tools to reduce risk, automate compliance, and govern Microsoft 365 Copilot use in regulated industries.

Smarsh has launched a new wave of GenAI-powered innovations to help financial firms manage compliance with greater speed and confidence. At the core is Intelligent Agent, an AI assistant trained to act like a Level 1 compliance analyst. It reduces review workloads by over 50% and detects 3–5x more risks in global communications—without hallucinations or translation delays.

The system is powered by domain-specific large language models and built for multilingual oversight. It filters out noise, flags critical risks, and adapts to global communication styles. Intelligent Agent is explainable, secure, and tailored to regulated environments—addressing growing compliance burdens without adding headcount. It launches in late 2025.

Smarsh also introduced Capture for Microsoft 365 Copilot, enabling organizations to record AI-generated conversations across Teams, documents, and chats. The tool stores every Copilot interaction in tamper-proof archives. This ensures transparency while applying automated compliance policies and enabling behavioral analysis across AI communications. Companies can now use Copilot safely within regulatory frameworks.

Lastly, Smarsh’s new open API suite allows firms to integrate GenAI insights directly into legal, e-discovery, and compliance systems. This brings GenAI governance into everyday workflows—reducing manual effort and speeding investigations. Partnerships with providers like Exterro and Relativity help firms accelerate data discovery and adapt to shifting legal demands.
