SoundHound AI integrates its ChatGPT-powered voice assistant into Alfa Romeo and Citroën vehicles across Europe.

SoundHound AI has launched its SoundHound Chat AI voice assistant, powered by ChatGPT, in Alfa Romeo and Citroën vehicles across multiple European markets. This expansion follows successful integrations in Peugeot, Opel, Vauxhall, and DS Automobiles, making Alfa Romeo Junior Ibrida and several Citroën models the latest to adopt this advanced technology.

The SoundHound Chat AI provides a versatile conversational experience, enhancing traditional in-vehicle functions like navigation and calls with generative AI capabilities. Users can ask natural language questions and receive detailed responses, covering topics from trip planning to historical facts and vehicle manual tips. This system recognizes human speech and supports engaging, informative conversations.

Drivers and passengers can ask follow-up questions and receive optimal responses that draw on real-time data. For example, they can inquire about scenic routes, popular stops, current weather conditions, navigation to parking spots, and finding nearby EV charging stations. This innovation aims to make in-car interactions more enjoyable and useful.

Michael Zagorsek, COO of SoundHound AI, highlighted the growing popularity of the SoundHound Chat AI assistant, noting significant increases in usage and customer satisfaction. The voice assistant’s integration has led to a sixfold increase in usage and a fivefold boost in Net Promoter Score, indicating high demand for intelligent AI voice assistants among drivers.
