ByteDance has integrated Feishu Intelligent Buddy, an AI assistant, into its office application Feishu, intensifying competition with Tencent and Alibaba in the workplace chatbot arena.

ByteDance, the company behind TikTok, has developed a cutting-edge collaboration tool called Feishu, which includes an AI chatbot called Feishu Intelligent Buddy. The chatbot is designed to help automate workplace tasks, making it easier for employees to generate emails, spreadsheets, and analyze PDFs, among other things. Feishu 7, launched in Beijing, introduces ChatGPT-like capabilities to Chinese enterprises. This is part of a growing trend in China of using AI in the workplace. The Feishu Intelligent Buddy can summarize meetings, process content from different formats, and draft various work documents.

Customers can choose from different large language models (LLMs) for their Feishu assistant, including MiniMax, Zhipu AI, and Baichuan. Companies like Anker Innovations Technology and Yuanqi Senlin are already using Feishu Intelligent Buddy to improve sales and marketing efficiency.

This development highlights ByteDance’s commitment to AI innovation, which is mirrored by similar efforts by Microsoft, Tencent, and Alibaba. These tech giants are integrating AI systems into office tools as a strategic move to expand the adoption of AI technology in business.
