Cropin teams up with Google Gemini to launch a real-time GenAI platform that enhances global farm management through predictive insights.
Indian agritech startup Cropin has partnered with Google Gemini to introduce Sage, a real-time GenAI-powered agri-intelligence platform. This platform helps farmers worldwide manage their farms by predicting yields, diseases, and other key insights. Sage provides detailed, grid-based insights into crop behavior over different timeframes, making it easier for farmers to make informed decisions.
Sage integrates GenAI, advanced crop and climate models, and Earth observation data. This combination helps predict future crop yields and identify optimal cultivation locations, enhancing food system resilience and sustainability. With Sage, farmers can plan better and adapt to changing conditions more effectively.
The platform is set to deploy globally in phases to meet enterprise demand. It currently serves B2B clients but will soon expand to B2C. Sage uses Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) to scale operations dynamically, handling large data volumes in real-time. The Gemini Flash 1.5 model converts user queries into SQL queries, generating user-friendly, visually appealing, grid-based data tailored to customer needs.
One unique feature of Sage is its ability to act as a crucial defense for global food systems. It provides intelligence to address crop performance issues promptly and secures supply chains for food manufacturers, especially during challenging seasons. This proactive approach ensures farmers can tackle problems before they escalate, protecting food supply.
With the platform’s launch, Cropin anticipates increasing its customer base by 50% over the next 2-3 years and aims to double revenue. The founder, Krishna Kumar, believes Sage will address pressing issues of food security and sustainability, positioning it as a premium product in the years ahead.
