DBS introduces iCoach, a GenAI powered coaching tool that scales personalized career guidance for every employee.

DBS has launched iCoach, a GenAI powered coaching platform designed to deliver personalized career guidance to its entire workforce. Traditionally, coaching has been limited to executives due to high costs and resource constraints. By applying GenAI, DBS has overcome the challenge of scale, making expert advice available to all employees.

The platform was built with input from leadership coach Marshall Goldsmith. iCoach provides on-demand support on topics such as career development, leadership, work-life balance, and mental wellness. Unlike traditional one-to-one coaching, the GenAI system tailors responses to each employee’s role, function, and career path within the bank. This ensures guidance remains practical, relevant, and aligned with internal opportunities.

DBS highlights coaching as a proven driver of performance and confidence. Studies show that employees who receive coaching report better communication skills, stronger workplace relationships, and improved self-confidence. With iCoach available 24/7, employees can access timely, context-aware guidance that helps them adapt to the fast-changing workplace. For the bank, this approach builds resilience across its workforce while controlling costs and resource demands.

iCoach complements DBS’s existing AI-powered initiatives like iGrow, which matches employees to learning and job opportunities, and the DBS Mentoring Programme. Together, these tools reflect the bank’s broader strategy to embed GenAI in workforce development. By shifting coaching from an exclusive resource to an accessible, AI-driven service, DBS is setting a new standard for employee growth in the digital workplace.
