Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy is testing a new search tool powered by GenAI, designed to match travelers with vacation rentals.

This tool processes natural language inputs to suggest suitable homes from its collection of 140,000 properties, considering the user’s vacation preferences.

The user-friendly AI search functionality allows for detailed or broad input on desired vacation characteristics. It aims to simplify the selection process by matching preferences with properties and providing additional destination information, such as weather and activities. This new option coexists with traditional search methods, offering a more flexible approach to planning vacations.

Jennifer Hsieh, Vice President of Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy, notes the AI tool’s novelty in the vacation rental market, emphasizing its focus on user preferences and amenities to facilitate the discovery of suitable vacation destinations and homes. The service extends Marriott Bonvoy’s premium and luxury vacation rental offerings, enhancing booking benefits through the Marriott Bonvoy travel program. This ensures quality and reliability, as Marriott vets all homes.

The AI search tool is part of Marriott International’s wider initiative to apply technology in improving customer service and travel experiences. It will soon be available on both the company’s website and mobile platforms, developed in partnership with Publicis Sapient.
