Optibus adds GenAI agents to streamline transit scheduling, cut errors, and simplify complex operations for agencies and operators.
Optibus has expanded its GenAI suite, designed specifically for public and private transit operators. The platform now embeds AI agents directly into workflows, helping teams plan and schedule services with greater ease and precision.
A key challenge in transit scheduling is translating countless operational rules into workable timetables. Traditional methods require coding expertise and lengthy configuration, leaving room for errors. Optibus AI tackles this with its Preference Designer, a GenAI agent that converts natural language into accurate scheduling logic. A scheduler can simply type: “No more than ten duties over nine hours,” and receive a ready-to-use rule instantly. This reduces rule setup time by up to 70% while cutting mistakes.
Optibus is also preparing new agents. Schedule Analysis will compare multiple optimized scenarios, providing presentation-ready insights to support stakeholder decisions. Multi-Step Automation will further streamline workflows by chaining together complex planning steps. These capabilities address a common failure in AI adoption: poor integration with existing tools. By building GenAI natively into its platform, Optibus ensures agencies can act on insights without extra systems or steep learning curves.
For an industry where only 8% of AI trials show measurable impact, this level of integration is significant. Optibus AI empowers teams to focus less on manual processes and more on service quality. “Generative AI is kicking off a new chapter in how public transportation is planned and operated,” said Amos Haggiag, CEO and co-founder of Optibus.
