OutSystems new GenAI-powered tool, Mentor, accelerates app development by automating the entire software lifecycle with quality in mind.
OutSystems has launched Mentor, a GenAI-powered platform that enhances the software development lifecycle (SDLC). Revealed at the OutSystems ONE Conference, Mentor empowers developers to generate, deliver, and monitor applications at unprecedented speed. It integrates low-code development with GenAI to automate tasks from prototyping to deployment, addressing common challenges like slow iteration, poor code quality, and security risks.
Moreover, Mentor overcomes these challenges by enabling developers to start the process early with a “shift-left” approach. By using GenAI, it automates rapid prototyping, generating functional app versions complete with front-end design, data models, and embedded logic. Consequently, this removes much of the repetitive work that can slow down development. Developers simply describe what they need, and Mentor generates an initial version for them to refine, dramatically reducing development time.
One major benefit is Mentor’s AI-powered quality control. It performs automatic code reviews to ensure high standards for performance, security, and long-term maintainability. This built-in governance reduces the risk of technical debt, ensuring applications are scalable and secure. Additionally, Mentor’s AI agents enhance apps with features like natural language understanding, allowing developers to humanize digital interactions without extensive coding.
By combining GenAI throughout the SDLC, Mentor enables continuous iteration and improvement. Helping developers respond quickly to business needs. It integrates with the OutSystems Developer Cloud, bringing faster, smarter application development to the enterprise. Mentor is set to become generally available in 2025, offering a new level of AI-powered app generation.
