Virgin Voyages partners with Google Cloud to deploy 50+ GenAI agents, boosting sales and creative efficiency across operations.
Virgin Voyages has partnered with Google Cloud to embed GenAI throughout its fleet and global operations. Using Gemini Enterprise, Google’s agentic AI platform, the cruise line is deploying more than 50 domain-specific AI agents to streamline tasks. As well as enhance personalization, and amplify creativity across departments.
The first deployed agent, “Email Ellie,” has already shown impressive results. Built by Virgin’s in-house creative team, Ellie generates personalized marketing messages in the brand’s signature voice. The system was trained on Virgin’s internal style frameworks, ensuring consistency with its playful, adventurous tone. Since launch, the AI has reduced campaign writing time by 40% and helped deliver a 28% year-over-year sales increase in July—marking the company’s strongest performance month on record.
Virgin Voyages’ CEO Nirmal Saverimuttu said the integration of GenAI enables teams to focus on higher-value creative work rather than manual production. “Email Ellie” serves as the first of many AI agents planned to enhance both customer engagement and employee productivity. Future agents will optimize guest experiences, automate crew scheduling, and personalize onboard services—extending AI’s impact far beyond marketing.
Google Cloud’s President of Global Revenue Matt Renner praised the collaboration as a model of “domain intelligence meeting GenAI capability.” He said Virgin Voyages’ use of Gemini Enterprise demonstrates how AI can power brand differentiation, reduce operational friction, and drive measurable growth. With its fleetwide rollout, Virgin Voyages positions itself as one of the first cruise brands to fully operationalize GenAI across marketing, service, and operations.
