Anthropic Claude gets GenAI upgrades for finance bringing real-time data, automation, and reasoning to analysts’ desktops.

Anthropic has expanded its Claude AI platform for financial services, adding GenAI tools that boost analytical precision and speed. The latest release introduces an Excel add-in. As well as real-time data connectors, and pre-built Agent Skills to automate complex modeling, reporting, and valuation tasks.

Financial professionals have long faced a trade-off between speed and accuracy. Analysts spend hours cleaning data, debugging spreadsheets, and reconciling models across fragmented systems. Claude’s new GenAI Excel integration eliminates that friction. The model now reads, analyzes, and edits spreadsheets live, explaining every formula and linking results back to their source cells. It ensures transparency, a critical factor for institutions wary of AI-induced financial errors. Early users report faster model building and fewer manual revisions.

Claude also connects to real-time financial data through partners like Moody’s, LSEG, Aiera, and Chronograph. These connectors give Claude access to credit ratings, private equity data, and earnings transcripts, allowing analysts to query live market information conversationally. This transforms Claude from a static assistant into a “Bloomberg-style” GenAI companion capable of synthesizing dynamic insights on demand.

To deepen automation, Anthropic added six new Agent Skills built for finance workflows, including DCF modeling, comparable company analysis, and due diligence preparation. Each skill executes tasks with reusable logic, integrates with existing systems, and supports natural language adjustments. Together, these features shift Claude from an analytical tool to an autonomous financial co-pilot, freeing teams to focus on strategy and judgment. By embedding GenAI directly into daily workflows, Anthropic is redefining how financial experts process information, shortening workflows from hours to minutes and setting a new standard for AI-augmented finance.
