Audi teams up with Cerence to improve its in-car assistant capabilities by leveraging GenAI for enhanced user experience.

Audi, part of the Volkswagen Group, has announced the integration of Cerence’s GenAI technology into its in-car assistant system. This collaboration aims to enhance the functionality of Audi’s infotainment platforms, providing more value to drivers both now and in the future. Initially, Cerence Chat Pro will be activated in 2021 Audi models equipped with the MIB 3 infotainment system and will be a feature in upcoming models as well.

Cerence Chat Pro uses advanced GenAI to provide intelligent, conversational responses to drivers’ queries. This integration allows Audi’s in-car assistant to deliver a more engaging and informative user experience. By utilizing Cerence’s automotive-grade ChatGPT, the system can handle a wide range of questions, offering drivers and passengers relevant and accurate information during their journeys.

Marcus Keith, Vice President of Interior, Infotainment & Connectivity at Audi, emphasized the company’s commitment to enhancing the AI-powered, software-defined vehicle experience. He noted that the expanded partnership with Cerence brings critical GenAI applications to Audi drivers, enhancing safety and enjoyment on the road.

Christian Mentz, Chief Revenue Officer at Cerence, highlighted the benefits of this collaboration, stating that Cerence Chat Pro will elevate the intelligence of Audi’s in-car assistant. This enhancement aims to improve safety, comfort, and productivity for drivers, making journeys more pleasant and efficient.
