Google has launched a GenAI image generator for Google Docs, allowing users to create custom visuals directly within their documents.

Google has rolled out an image generator for Google Docs, powered by its Gemini AI technology. This feature allows users to create photorealistic images directly in their documents. With this tool, users can easily enhance presentations, reports, and personal projects by integrating detailed visuals seamlessly.

To use the image generator, users simply go to the ‘Insert’ menu in Google Docs. The option “Help Me, Create an Image” opens a sidebar where they can enter prompts for image generation. The AI interprets prompts for a variety of subjects, such as landscapes or abstract concepts, producing images that accurately reflect user descriptions. This capability helps overcome the challenge of finding suitable images from stock libraries.

The tool offers flexibility in image creation, allowing users to select from three aspect ratios and various layout options. Powered by the Imagen 3 algorithm, it generates lifelike photos tailored to specific needs. Users can also adjust the images by selecting styles, sizes, and themes, increasing the customization potential for their documents.

Currently, this feature is available only to Google Workspace subscribers, including Gemini Business, Enterprise, and Education plans. The rollout is gradual, starting with Rapid Release domains and expanding to others by December 16. Google’s commitment to user feedback will help refine the tool, ensuring better results over time. This innovative addition transforms how users create and enhance their documents, merging AI capabilities with creative expression for a richer user experience.
