Bengaluru startup Upliance.ai uses GenAI to turn complex Indian cooking into precise, effortless meals for many households to master.
Indian cooking demands countless techniques, making it hard for many households to master daily meals. Upliance.ai, led by CEO Mahek Mody, aims to simplify this challenge using GenAI. Its smart cooker, Upliance 2.0, combines adaptive sensors with recipe intelligence to give users an AI-powered kitchen assistant.
The first layer of AI tackles precision cooking. Sensors continuously monitor temperature, heat, and texture to adapt in real time. For example, when cold milk is added to pasta sauce, the system automatically increases heat to ensure perfect results. The device can also chop garlic or prevent food from sticking by modulating its heater up to 80 times a second. This adaptive engine is protected by four patents.
The second AI is generative. It acts as a “Master Chef Persona,” converting online recipes into machine-executable steps. Users can paste YouTube links or blog recipes, and the AI translates them into instructions for the appliance. This has built a living library of over 750 dishes, with contributions from both the company and its users. Recipes are now parametric, meaning they adjust intelligently to portion sizes without losing accuracy.
With Upliance 2.0, cooking is 40% faster due to upgraded hardware and refined AI logic. Early adoption extends beyond India’s metros, with strong word-of-mouth in Tier 2 cities. By localizing recipes for cultural and dietary needs, Upliance.ai shows how GenAI can bridge tradition and technology. Positioned as more than a gadget, the platform represents a step toward AI-native home appliances built for everyday life.
