VIB launches ViePro, a GenAI assistant powered by AWS, enahancing customer service and boosting operational efficiency in mobile banking.

Vietnam International Bank (VIB) recently introduced ViePro, a GenAI assistant designed to improve user experience on its MyVIB digital banking platform. This launch marks VIB as the first bank in Vietnam to offer a highly accurate interactive assistant available 24/7, using Amazon Web Services (AWS). The primary objectives are to enhance customer satisfaction and increase productivity by 40%, while optimizing IT and human resource requirements by up to 80%.

ViePro employs Claude 3 Haiku on Amazon Bedrock, allowing VIB to tailor outputs based on proprietary banking data stored in AWS. The assistant aims to provide personalized advice on banking products and streamline customer queries. Initially tested with employees, ViePro was expanded to selected customers and is now rolling out to millions of users. As its capabilities grow, ViePro will enable customers to manage various banking tasks directly, such as closing cards and transferring money, thereby increasing service efficiency.

By leveraging machine learning models, ViePro will optimize cross-selling opportunities, predicting customer needs and making personalized recommendations. This approach creates a more intuitive banking experience while boosting revenue. VIB emphasizes that transitioning to AWS facilitates faster infrastructure setup compared to traditional deployments, allowing them to support millions of customers within weeks without significant upfront costs.

VIB’s ongoing digital enhancements aims to integrate advanced AI to boost operations. The bank envisions GenAI as a powerful tool for customer service, programming, and data analysis. This comprehensive integration with AWS’s capabilities will position VIB for future growth and innovation in the banking sector.
